Women's Coaching
While we have seven coaches on our staff to choose from, you may prefer to receive coaching from our two NZPGA women's coaches, Jess and Hillary. Their profiles are showcased below.
 

Jess Reid

NZPGA AAA Professional since 2013

 

Known for her friendly, vivacious and energetic personality, Jess is our female PGA Golf Professional and Retail Manager of the Shop. Jess’s number one passion lies with teaching and coaching the game, along with encouraging anyone and everyone to give the game a go.

Jess started playing the game at the age of 10, with the encouragement and support of her father. She continued to play throughout her school years. In 2009, Jess reached her goal of representing Canterbury and played for the region as player #1 or #2, for 4 years. Throughout this time, she won the Canterbury Women’sOrder of Merit 3 times and was the Canterbury Women’s Golfer of the Year in 2011 and 2012. In 2013, she decided to follow her dream of turning professional and began her coaching career.

Jess  as an AAA PGA Golf Professional and very experienced. During her 3-year traineeship, she won the PGA Trainee of the Year award for 3 consecutive years.

 

 

 

Hillary O'Connor

NZPGA Trainee Golf Professional since 2020

 

Hillary is a passionate, friendly, and outgoing member of the Russley golf club family.

Hillary turned her passion for golf into her job in 2020 when she commenced her PGA traineeship. She was motivated to start coaching as she enjoys helping people reach their goals, and her easy-going attitude can help make the golf jargon simple to comprehend.

Born in Christchurch, Hillary had an extensive amateur golf career, playing for Canterbury and New Zealand throughout that time. She still enjoys playing competitive golf so you’ll often see her playing in pro-am events around the country. Hillary specialises in teaching beginner golfers, young or old.
