Rodney Yee NZPGA AAA member since 2009

Head of Coaching and Development

Rodney Yee is a golfer of international acclaim. Born here in Christchurch, Rodney started playing golf at seven, and had a fantastic amateur career. He represented Canterbury at junior and senior levels, and represented New Zealand on the world stage.

For the past seven years, Rodney has turned his hand to coaching so he can help others enjoy the game and in this time he has gained a reputation as one of the region’s leading instructors. He has worked closely with some of Canterbury’s best golfers, some of whom have taken out national titles.

Rodney utilises Flight Scope digital technology to help golfers reach their potential, and he is also our leading club fitter. If you are looking to maximise your distance and improve your game, you can contact Rodney for expert tuition.

Languages – Rodney speaks fluent English, conversational Cantonese, and has access to a Japanese translator.

Jess Reid NZPGA AA member

Jess is a PGA golf professional who has been coaching for the past three years.

She has been playing since she was 10, and has represented Canterbury as the region’s number one or two player for four years running. Jess won the Canterbury Women’s Order of Merit three times, and also took out the Canterbury Women’s Golfer of the Year in 2011 and 2012.

During her three-year training for PGA, Jess won Trainee of the Year each year. Her excellent work ethic and passion for the game is always evident, making her a superb role model for younger players. Jess also manages the Russley Golf Shop.

Languages – Jess speaks English, German and Dutch.

Tom Hardy – NZPGA trainee professional

Tom joined the Russley Golf Learning Centre team this year when he started his NZPGA traineeship. He has been playing golf since age 11 and has represented Canterbury at the highest junior level and also as a senior representative.

We call Tom our “repair man” as he has excellent product knowledge. Please feel free to seek out Tom for any advice around golfing equipment.

Ryan Clark – Bphty, PGDipHSc.

TPI level 2 medical practitioner, TPI level 2 junior coach

Ryan is a fully qualified musculoskeletal physiotherapist who has worked in private practice since 1996. He has been at the Russley Golf Club since 2013 and is our go-to man for expert advice on physical improvement.

Ryan has always been heavily involved in sport; he has swum and played soccer and golf to representative level, and understands the physical demands required of top sports people. He has professional qualifications from the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) and has worked with some of Canterbury’s top athletes.

Golfers are encouraged to see Ryan for professional assessment of any physical issues that may be affecting performance. Once these are identified, Ryan can create a personalised exercise program to allow improvement in strength and agility, and to prevent injury.
