HANDICAPS

Singles Match Play

Allow the higher handicapped player the full difference between the Course Handicaps of the two players; the lower handicapped player plays from scratch. For example, a player with a Course handicap of 17 receives four strokes from a player with a Course handicap of 13. He receives them on the first four allocated handicap-stroke holes

Four Ball Match Play

Reduce the Course handicaps of all four players by the Course handicap of the player with the lowest handicap, who then plays from scratch. Each of the other three players is allowed 100 per cent of the difference.

WEEKLY COMPETITIONS

On all Saturdays and Wednesdays (other than the Christmas period) a Club completion is run, on Saturdays broken into four handicap divisions and on Wednesdays a single division. All members are automatically entered into these competitions with prizes given to the top three in the divisions. These competitions can be stablefords, pars, stroke with occasional best balls.

A monthly medal is run in conjunction with a blue tee stroke round with an engraved medal presented to the winners of the best gross and best net for these rounds.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Club Championships have four divisions – Senior, Intermediate, Junior and Masters. The Masters division is for members aged over 60 and is played off handicap off the whites tees. The other grades are split by handicap and are played off the blue tees. The handicap split is 9 or less for Senior, 10-15 for Intermediate and over 15 for Junior based on the blue tee handicap.

There are two qualifying rounds with a players  best gross score (or net score for Masters) score from one of these rounds being used to determine  the field for the match play rounds.

The match play rounds are held over two weekends with play on a knock out basis on both the Saturday and Sunday of each weekend. The final for the Masters competition is over 18 holes and the final for the other divisions is over 36 holes.

Before entering all players should make sure they are available for all the match play dates.
