Golf is a game where a novice player can play a competitive match against a very good player because of the handicapping system. Players are therefore required to hand in all cards, good and bad, so that your handicap reflects accurately your golfing abilities.
It is most important that when you hand in your scorecard that it is completed correctly. This will enable our committee members who are loading the cards onto the computer to work quickly and accurately without being held up. There are lots of cards to be loaded in each week so it is important that time is taken to get it right. Russley invested in the Golf Auto Score system in early 2005. This system allows cards to be read by a reader and downloaded automatically onto the handicapping system. The necessary precursor to this happening however is that the card is completed properly so that the computer can “read” your card. The main thing we ask players to do is to mark the players score in the ‘red bit’ of the card correctly. If you have any doubts or questions on how to properly complete the card please ask one of the committee members, the Pro Shop staff or the office staff. We are very keen to ensure players do this correctly.
If you are playing at another course, it is important that you put your 7 digit membership number (i.e. 371- _ _ _ _ ) on the card. If this is done then you may hand in your card at that course and they will load it via their computer directly to the NZGA and your records are updated. |
