There are a number of conditions that must be adhered to when playing on our course, most of these are stated in our Programme however it is important that the more important ones are reiterated, these are outlined below.
- Please repair pitch marks on the greens using your pitch mark repairer
- Please take a sand bucket from the stand near No 1 tee and repair your divot marks as you play your round. The correct way to do this is to replace your divot first and then sprinkle sand lightly around the edges.
- Please enter the bunker from the away side to the green and rake out your divot and footprints when you exit. Leave the rake in the bunker
- Please take the flagstick out carefully (try and stand a little away from the hole when doing this) and lay it gently on the ground, when replacing it, it goes back in the same hole.
- Please ensure your golf shoes have soft spikes
- Please adhere to our dress code
- Please keep up with the players in front of you, our Course Marshal will ask you to move along if you are holding up play
- Please drive the electric carts off to the side of the fairway as much as possible
- Lastly and most importantly, please give way to our green keeping staff at all times. If they are working ahead of you they will signal you through as soon as they are able
It is a long list, but it is easy to abide by and will enhance your and other member’s enjoyment of the game.
Out on the course there are various amenities. Toilets are situated to the east of the pro shop near the first tee and in the pines to the west of the 13th tee. Drinking fountains are situated on the course at the 6th tee, the 9th tee, the 12th tee and the 15th tee. Rubbish bins are located at every tee block. Shelters for golfers are also situated at the ladies 4th tee, the 8th tee, the men’s 9th tee, the 10th tee and at the 15th tee.
We have an air compressor with four nozzles attached for members to clean their shoes with when they come off the course. The nozzles are located on the trundler storage shed wall as you enter the course from the car park.
I would like to alert members to the danger of compressed air. If it enters the bloodstream it can be fatal. To quote from a safety bulletin: "Compressed air from nozzles can cause serious injuries when misused. A jet of air when applied to the body can introduce air into the bloodstream through the skin and consequently lead to an embolism (obstruction of the artery), a potentially lethal condition."
Absolute care should be taken to ensure the compressed air nozzles are used for cleaning shoes only. Do not take any risks, keep the gun directed to your golf shoes only. Do not keep the gun working when it is pointed in any other direction. |
